I'm a passionate and driven filmmaker who studied Audiovisual Arts in Ghent and Brussels.
After my studies I wrote a few screenplays for short and feature films before I finally had the courage to send them to producers.
A few years later I made my first short film "Kaïn" that got nominated for the Golden Bear at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
After my Berlinale adventure I decided to write, direct and produce my second short film myself. "The Fall" is a 17 minute zero-budget short film that was shot in only 1 day. The film starred Geert Van Rampelberg and Natali Broods. The film won several awards and screened at more than 45 film festivals worldwide.
My third short film "Empire" premiered in the world competition of the 39th Montreal World Film Festival and got selected for the 59th BFI London Film Festival. The film won several awards. Starring Kris Cuppens and Ina Geerts.
In the meantime I edited the short film "Nuclear Waste" for my friend and Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy (The Tribe), which won the Silver Leopard at the 65th Locarno International Film Festival.
Finally I got the chance to write and direct my first feature film "Resurrection" that premiered at the 44th Film Fest Gent. Furthermore, the film got selected for the 21th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (First Features Competition) and the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam (Bright Future). Starring Johan Leysen and Gilles De Schryver. This personal and contemplative feature film won several awards worldwide.
More recently I directed the reconstruction scenes for the television series "Under the Radar" about a few of the most striking cases in the history of the Special Units.
I also co-wrote and directed the 4 final episodes of the 3rd season of the popular television series "Under Fire" about the survival and moral dilemma's of a group of firefighters.
I firmly believe in the power of the cinematic language to express emotions and the story that needs to be told.
