PITCH:
Kathy is a driven police officer who lives and works in Ostend, a city by the sea. She has her life in order, is happily married to her husband David, and together they have a teenage son, Jasper. Through her work, Kathy regularly comes into contact with the darker side of humanity. She has always been able to cope with it and firmly believes that, as a police officer, she can make a difference.
That changes when her son is killed in an act of violence. Kathy begins to question her profession and, devastated by the loss of her son and confronted with the violence surrounding her, falls into a profound moral crisis. Her idealism is put to the ultimate test.
Can she remain morally standing, both as a human being and as a police officer?
An introspective and morally challenging drama about how a woman, a mother, a police officer struggles to come to terms with the violence in our society—and nearly succumbs to it. Her faith in justice and morality is irreparably damaged. In her search for meaning and redemption, she is forced to confront her own darkest limits.
